Ben Drury started his welding career at Cambridge Metal Works during high school. After graduating in 2008, he went on to attain an advanced technical certificate in welding technology from Lewis & Clark State College. After college, Ben spent three years working in the repair shop for Yanke Machine Shop in Boise, gaining valuable experience both in the shop and on field service projects in mines in Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Montana.

In 2014, Ben’s wife Bethany was offered a job in Sheridan, Wyoming and they decided to move to pursue new opportunities. While in Sheridan, Ben worked for several companies servicing the coal industry in the area. He continued to grow his experience in welding, mechanical, and machining repairs on the large machines used at the mines. Ben also decided to continue his education and in 2019 he earned his Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certificate from the American Welding Society, giving him the ability to perform welder qualification testing and weld inspections.

When the opportunity arose to come back to Idaho and acquire Cambridge Metal Works, Ben and Bethany decided it would be a fitting new challenge for them to tackle while also living in an area that still holds the farming and ranching roots they both grew up with.
